    privilege leave early in week, 260 is duty battery each day.
    "5th0600Numerous. courses arranged for Officers and NCOs. Capt Balfour proceeded
    on Pay Course.
    "6th0600Fatigues etc. Recreational trip in afternoon.
    "7th0600Limited amount of training. Route March. Fatigues etc. Small Arms range
    being constructed.
    "8th0600Normal duties and fatigues (these take up a considerable percentage of
    Battery strength owing to 257 Bty being on leave).
    "9th0600Normal duties and fatigues. Parties sent to U.S. Variety Show in Norwich
    and entertainment organised by local population.
    Weather:- Very cold, with sleet and rain.
    "10th0600Normal training & fatigues. Pay Parade.
