The memorial is located in WN62 next to the American Normandy Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. WN62 was one of the strongest defending positions on Omaha beach.

The memorial to the Fifth Engineer Special Brigade is located on top of a casemate at WN62.
The Normandy American Cemetery covers 172.5 acres and is situated on the cliffs overlooking Omaha Beach east of St-Laurent-sur-Mer it is a cemetery and memorial to American Soldiers who died in Europe during the Second World War.
WN60 was the most eastern fortification at Omaha Beach and had a view over the whole landing area. Many of the fortifications and trench systems are still present today.
