This memorial is located on the wall of the cemetery at Hérouvillette and commemorates the men of the 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (52nd).
The battalion fought in key actions from the capture of Pegasus Bridge on D-Day through Escoville, Hérouvillette, and Bréville-les-Monts, advancing as far as the River Seine during the Battle of Normandy.
The plaque also pays tribute to the many courageous French civilians who assisted them.
