A monument to Advance Landing Ground B-2 which was located 2 km east of Bazenville and served from June to August 1944.
The memorial modelled after a Spitfire wing stands in front of the church which served as the Ground Control for the 2nd Tactical Air Force

The first burials at Ryes War Cemetery were on the 8th June 1944 following the 50th Division landing nearby at Arromanches. The cemetery contains 652 Commonwealth burials from the Second World War, one Polish Burial and 335 German graves.
