The cemetery contains 377 burials, seven of which are unidentified. Most of the burials are from the heavy fighting in June and July 1944 when Commonwealth forces attempted to encircle the south of Caen.
Brouay War Cemetery can be accessed via some steps in the eastern corner of the village churchyard.
