This plaque commemorates the liberation of Colomby-sur-Thaon by Le Régiment de la Chaudière, supported by The Fort Garry Horse, on 7 June 1944.
The plaque was inaugurated in June 1994 to mark the 50th anniversary of D-Day, and serves as a reminder of the close bond between the people of Colomby-sur-Thaon and the Canadian soldiers who freed their village.
