THIS MEMORIAL HONOURS THE BRITISH
AND FRENCH COMMANDOS WHO LANDED
FROM THE SEA ON THE MORNING OF D-DAY,
6TH JUNE 1944, AND THOUGHT THEIR WAY INLAND
TO JOIN 6TH AIRBORNE DIVISION. TOGETHER
THEY HELD THE EASTERN FLANK SECURE
AGAINST ALL ENEMY ATTACKS THROUGHOUT
THE NORMANDY CAMPAIGN.
