The Orglandes German War Cemetery is located on the northern edge of the village of Orglandes about 70km to the west of Bayeux. Most of the burials came from the battles immediately following the D-Day invasion as the Allies cut off the Cherbourg peninsula and headed towards Cherbourg. After the war the German dead in field graves and smaller cemeteries were reburied in Orglandes War Cemetery and there are now more than 10,150 German remains buried here.
