Memorial World War II Museum
The Memorial World War II Museum Quineville provides a chronological journey through the main events of the Second World War, from the general mobilisation and the "phoney war" through to the D-Day landings and the liberation of Europe.
The museum has a particular focus on the daily life of the French citizens living under the German occupation and their resourcefulness living with the restrictions imposed by the Germans and lack of resources available to them.
The museum immerses you in the atmosphere of the time though the use of dioramas and reconstructed scenes including streets with sound, shops, residential houses and an authentic built blockhouse.
The museum is located on the coast to the north of Utah Beach and has an original German gun emplacement integrated into the museum overlooking the beach.
