Sherman tank "Massaoua" belonged to the 1st Company of the 501st Tank Regiment of the French 2nd Armoured Division and took part in the liberation of Ecouche.
During the battle, the tank was hit by enemy fire and remained at the entrance to the Ecouche until the end of the war when Monsieur Chable the Mayor, asked that the tank remains as a memorial.
