The Saint Désir Commonwealth War Cemetery contains 598 Commonwealth burials, 5 of which are unidentified.

Most of those buried here died in the final stages of the Battle of Normandy as the Allies pursued the German forces towards the Seine. After the war 78 burials were moved here from Chartres Communal Cemetery.

The cemetery is located alongside the Saint-Désir-de-Lisieux German war cemetery which contains 3,735 German burials.
