A monument to the American Paratroopers of the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment who fought along the banks of the Merderet River during the early hours of June 6th.
Located at the western end of the La Fiere causeway the hamlet of Cauquigny witnessed heavy fighting from the 6th to 9th June 1944 between paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division and grenadiers of the 91st German Infantry Division.
A memorial to Pfc Charlie Neilans DeGlopper who died here covering his sections withdrawal when surrounded by German forces
