Located alongside the original First World War memorial at Colombelles, this memorial records the crew of the Royal Air Force Dakota DC3 – KG 429, who were killed in Colombelles, Normandy, on the night of 5–6 June 1944 during operations associated with the Allied landings in Normandy. It also includes reference to a member of the Royal Ulster Rifles who was killed on the 9th June 1944.
