    23Warning of airborne attack received. Regt stood to from 2300A hrs 23 Dec
    to 0840A hrs 24 Dec.
    24Nothing to report.
    25Xmas Day uneventful. General consensus of opinion was that it was the
    best Xmas dinner the Army had ever provided.
    262323ANo. 4 det of 'D' Tp,373 Bty engaged JU 88 with 16 rounds. One hit observed.
    This was the first engagement of E/A since the Regt left the beach-head
    in August.
    27/28.Nothing to report.
    29One warning gun per Bty deployed to cover Western approaches to SCHELDT.
    30/31.Slight increase in E/A. 0452A hrs 31 Dec low-flying E/A approached from
    NW. 0500A hrs low flying E/A approached from SW. Impossible to engage as,
    in accordance with orders 12-sec tracer was loaded and the E/A were below
    minimum angle of sight - 10°. During the month an increase in long-range projectiles
    has been noticed - many overshooting the target.
