    VALKENSWAARD 41708613 - 30 Nov.During the month the activities of the Regt have been
    TAC HQ LOCNS.on a rather reduced scale. One Sqn after having worked
    with the Cdns in the reduction of the Scheldt Pocket
    ZOMERON 5931171 - 7 Novmoved into Wkshps and were re-equipped and then remained
    u/c 1 Aslt Bde RE in the Antwerp Area, without having
    been committed. 'A' Sqn moved back towards the coast
    and were employed in getting Inf across the Aftwaterings
    Canal using the same tactics as were used by 'C' Sqn
    in flaming across the Canal and getting Inf across under
    cover of the flame. These tactics were again extremely
    successful, the Inf getting across with very few cas
    indeed. Towards the latter end of the month 'A' Sqn
    moved south into Germany u/c Drewforce sp 84 US Inf Div
    where they had marked success against some of the
    static defs of the Siegfried Line.
    Lt-Col H. Waddell relinquished comd of the Regt on
    25 Oct and it was taken over by Lt-Col D.J.E. O' Flynn MBE
    The activities of the Regt to date have been given
    some well deserved publicity in the shape of BBC
    broadcasts, mentioned in the daily papers and a long
    article in the Kent Messenger. These are att as
    Appendices 'C' & 'D'.
