			Landing Operations".

		1430	Bde Comd attended a Training Conference at HQ 50(N) Div at which the Div
			Comd indicated the policy for training: individual and sub-unit training to
			be carried out up to the end of February and collective training in March.
	5	1000	Bde Comd and C.O's of Bns attended a Cloth Model discussion at Main HQ 50(N)
			Div on "Co-operation between Tanks and Infantry".
		1500	Bde Comd held a training conference at Bde HQ attended by C.O's of Bns at
			which he passed on to C.O's the policy laid down by the Div Comd for
			training.
	6	0930	Bde I.O. attended a lecture at HQ 50(N) Div given by GSO III ('I) Second
			Army on the Topography of France and the low countries.

7	1430	Cloth Model discussion held at Bde HQ on "Bn attack on a hastily organized
		defensive position". Officers of all three bns down to Coy Comds and Comd
		"S" Coy Platoons attended. C.O. 74 Fd Regt and O.C. 107 A/Tk Bty (NH) also
		attended.
8		Bde Comd and Bde I.O. recced ground for T.E.W.T. on "Advance to Contact" and
		"Bn attack against an enemy rearguard position".
9		Nothing to record.
10		A cadre for Bn Intelligence Sections under Bde I.O. started.
11		Nothing to record.
12		A Signal Exercise involving HQs in 50 Div down to Bde HQs was held between
		1000 hrs and 1400 hrs.
13		Nothing to record.
14	1000	Bde Comd directed a T.E.W.T. on "Advance to Contact" and "Bn attack against
		an enemy rearguard position", attended by all officers 9 DLI.
	1230	Major The Viscount Long, Coldstream Guards arrived at Bde H.Q. to take over

	1530	Bde Comd held a conference for C.O's of three Bns at Bde HQ.
19	1000	Bde Comd and Bde Major visited Bns and inspected training.
20	0930	Bde Comd and Bde Major left for THETFORD Training Area to recce scheme for
		coys of all three bns in co-operation with tanks. C.O's of all three Bns
		were also there and later met Major General D.A.H. GRAHAM, C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C.,
		G.O.C. 50 (N) Div.
21	1000	Bde Comd directed a T.E.W.T. on "Advance and Contact" and "The Encounter Battle"
		(near STEEPLE BUMPSTEAD) which was attended by all officers of 8 DLI.
