    War Diary: 2 Wing Glider Pilot Regiment

    Month and year: April 1944

    During the No. 2 Wing Glider Pilots Regiment April 1944 war diary the unit was based at several RAF stations across England, with Wing Headquarters at Blakehill Farm, E Squadron at Down Ampney, F Squadron at Broadwell, C Squadron at Tarrant Rushton, and 13 Flight at Sleap. During 21-23 April, the unit participated in Exercise "MUSH," a large-scale airborne exercise involving 40 glider crews from Broadwell and Down Ampney under the command of Major B.H.P. Jackson. The exercise concluded with gliders landing at Southrop, after which the Glider Pilots were evacuated from the battle area.
