War Diary: 241 Provost Coy

Month and year: June 1944

The 241 Provost Company’s June 1944 war diary recounts its landing in Normandy on D-Day under intense enemy fire, where men were killed and wounded as they established vital traffic control on the beaches. In the weeks that followed, the company carried out demanding beach and town duties around Ouistreham and Lion-sur-Mer, maintaining order and movement within the growing bridgehead despite constant shelling and storm damage.
