War Diary: 241 Provost Coy

Month and year: September 1944

The September 1944 war diary of 241 Provost Company records routine traffic control and patrol duties in Caen, including speed checks and joint patrols with the Field Security Police. During the month, French police gradually assumed responsibility for traffic points, assisted by the company’s personnel. Preparations were made at the end of September for a move to Cabourg, with duties handed over to 247 HQ Provost Company.
