5th Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment War Diary: March 1944
During the March 1944 war diary 5th Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment trained at Inveraray's Combined Training Centre through early March, completing the Newton Bay Exercise and a Brigade Exercise at ARDNO, with one other rank fatally injured. On the 12th the unit ferried to Ardrossan and entrained for Bournemouth, arriving on the 13th. The remainder of the month was spent in company training and briefings for Exercise SMASH I
