    Thorpeness1 FebStrength:- Officers 55 Other Rangs 952.
    3Exercise ELK III attended by officers of the Regt as spectators only.
    Exercise concerned attack on a German Coy hedgehog posn from the sea and
    included disembarkation from token landing craft. The new principle of
    flail tks working in tps of two instead of the usual five was tried. A
    Landing Craft Tank load on this occasion was two CRABS (Flail Sherman tanks)
    and three Assault Vehicles RE (Churchill tanks).
    4Regimental Conference to work out the first division of transport
    by echelons in the new role. Major S.A.Wallace handed over HQ Sqn, now
    reduced by new W.E. to Capt H.P. STANYON, and assumed command of A Sqn in
    place of Major M.H. TAYLOR posted from the Regiment. Capt H.R.V.MABSON
    left the Regiment on posting to Photo Interpretation duties. Major B.A.
    WALLACE, Capt M.J. CROSTHWAITE and SQMS HUDSON are now the only pre-war
    Westminster Dragoons serving with the Regiment.
    The Officers of the Regiment are now as follows:- (See Appendix).

    15Ex SPARKS I. First Exercise in Flail Role organized by the Regt.
    The fill Establishment of 3 SHERMAN Armoured Recovery Vehicles
    arrived.
    16Lt. F.J. Silver posted to 5 Assault Regt RE.
    1827 ORs struck off strength and posted to 8 Hussars.
