The Platoon was put into a defensive role with the 5 East Yorks, between 6 and 8 Platoons, with the task of covering the ground to the East towards Coulombs and Ste Croix Grand Tonne, since, with 8 Armoured Brigade covering the South, it was expected that any enemy threat would develop from this direction.
