The Brigade was lucky to have with it Guy Byam of the BBC, Leonard Mosely of Allied Newspapers who came by Parachute, Chester Wilmot of the BBC, and David Woodward of the Manchester Guardian who travelled by glider. These four correspondents were most generous in the recognition they gave to the work of the Brigade through their despatches. The news of personal interest they were able to bring to the families of all ranks was much appreciated. All ranks on their part learned to respect the personal courage and devotion to duty of these War correspondents who shared in every way the dangers and disconforts of the soldier.
