On Saturday 24th June the men were able for the first time to have the opportunity of a complete rest, and a system of returning a certain number of men per Company to Battalion 'B' Echelon for 24 hours rest came into force. A similar scheme came into existance for Officers.
In the early hours of the morning of Wednesday 28th June, the Battalion was relieved by 1 HANTS of 231 BRIGADE and moved back to the area of VERRIERES for a brief rest after a lengthy period under. Casualties for the period were estimated at 10 Officers and 90 Other Ranks (3 Officers killed).
