2. DESCRIPTION OF PACK CHARGE

1. PACK

The individual explosive packs are made up of:-

Slabs Demolition CE/TNT MK I40 ib.
Explosive 851 or P.E. 21 ib.
Plastic Cordtex3-ft
Primers C.E.2.
Pack W. E. 1937 Pattern1
Plywood Sheets 13" x 13"1
Plywood Sheets 13" x 14"2

The make-up of the pack is illustrated in Plate 6

2. PACK PLATFORM

This is made up light Commando scaling ladder which is an Ordance Store. The ladder is supplied in 4' lengths 8" wide. 20 of these are required

3. INITIATION

A plastic Cordtex oring main is used with safety fuse and a percussion igniter. Two initiating assemblies are used to duplicate the firing system.

4. STOWAGE IN TANKS

Working on a basis of 2 tanks to carry out the operation and. allowing a percentage of spare packs each tank should be stowed as follows:-

Roller Runway 10-ft. lengths1

The packs are stowed on the roller runway immediately behind the driver and co-driver and in line with the side hatches. The ladders are lashed to the towing eyes at the rear of the tank. The roller runway is used to aid quick discharge from the A.V.R.E.
