Carrier patrols of 6 and 9 DLI were pushed fwd to recce and make contact with the enemy. The advance today was characterised by small parties of enemy inf being engaged around the villages on axis of advance. These groups appeared to be out of communications with their main bodies and were surprised by the rapidity of our advance inland. Many Small parties of enemy seen and engaged. No serious fighting.

6 DLI. - 0500 - Advance continued to second objective - area CONDE SUR SEULLES 8274.
0900 - Rear elements of mobile column met a convoy of German vehicles at road junction 815763 and shot up three three-ton trucks without loss.
1100 - Joint post at CONDE 8373 occupied by Capt. D.J. Fenner, but no forces from 69 Inf Bde turned up. Post was counter attacked by enemy during the morning and our force driven out. 4/7 DG in support beat off any threat to main Bn positions and the post was reoccupied during the evening.

0805 - Bn HQ now at 827766: A Coy, 815768; B Coy 828774, C Coy 820763; D Coy 822777.
