151 Inf Bde. - 1800 - Orders were received for 8 DLI to revert to under comd night 12/13 and for 9 DLI to pass to under comd 56 Bde with in addition all supporting arms less one mortar pl "A" Coy 2 Cheshire. Situation last light: Dispositions unchanged, no contact with the enemy throughout the day.

69 Inf Bde - 1000 - Bde was ordered to move fwd mopping up with following objectives:

6 Green Howards - CROSTOT via AUDRIEU.
7 " " - on wood 8871.
5 E Yorks - to relieve 8 DLI in ST PIERRE

Country was thick and little was known of the enemy, who were supposed to be SW of TIILY-SUR-SEULLES and SE of AUDRIEU. 6 Green Howards met hy opposition from CRISTOT and had 3 Coy comdr killed and lost so many NCOs that their CO withdrew the bn to 862713.

5 E Yorks reach 850700 when they were attacked by tks and reorganised in the area of 859708. CO was wounded and later died. Only one fd rank was left in the bn. 7 Green Howards were pinned as soon as they crossed the rly and were forced to withdraw to area of joint post with 7 Cdn Bde at BRONAY.

5 E Yorks. - 1500 - Bn ordered to move to area Pt 103 8570 to relieve 1 Dorsets as part of Bde plan to establish firm base as pivot for 7 Armd Div. Bn moved off at 1500 hrs via AUDRIEU and HAUTES D’AUDRIEU overcoming slight opposition from MGs and snipers

1800 - A and B Coys moving into posn SW of HAUTES LES became involved in armd counter attack by enemy directed on Pt 103; Coys not being dug in were ill-protected. Tk battle continued 1830 hrs to dusk when enemy withdrew. Bn withdrew to compact area around x rds in HAUTE D'AUDRIEU.

6 Green Howards. Bn is ordered to adv and capture Pt 102 877693 1600 - Passed thro' AUDRIEU. 1800 Begins adv on GRISTOT.

Bn is pinned in area of X tracks 866702 by Spandau fire as round CRISTOT. Bn withdrew to 857705 (Pt 103) and suffered hy cas.
